Lambretta is back!
Available in Poole, Dorset at All 2 Wheelers!
Lambretta Scooters sold
in huge numbers, even after the Innocenti Family ceased making
them in 1972. They mobilised countries, became a Sixties icon
and have never lost that cool stylish appeal. These brand new
Models are as stylish as ever, faithful with its lines and are a
tribute to the great predecessor. The story for Lambretta came
to an end, when manufacturer Innocenti gained a licence to build
cars for British Leyland, then it was bought by the British
company, which unfortunately saw scooter production as an
unnecessary diversion. The last Innocenti Lambretta was made in
1972, but as with Norton, Indian, The Beetle and even Triumph,
the brand soldiered on under various owners.
With today's modern
technology and reliability this I'm sure is what Innocenti
would've intended had the company continued building Lambrettas
40 years ago. Rome-based
Lambretta Motolife Italia SpA along with the famous Allesandro
Tartarini (Italjet) have designed the new, modern Lambretta.
The resulting LN125 is, if anything, more faithful to the
Sixties Lambretta look than a Vespa GTS125 is to its antecedent.
In my view Lambretta has always had the sleeker look than the
Vespa and was a better balanced bike. Both now feature an
automatic, twist-and-go transmission with a four-stroke,
single-cylinder engine. The main bodywork, like the original, is
steel and boasts stylish 12" alloy wheels.
The
scooter has some very nice touches, like the flush mounted LED
front indicators, (it also has an LED rear light) the chunky
handle bar grips are embossed with the famous Lambretta logo and
have more girth than most grips. The scooter also benefits from
a modern dash, complete with clock, speedo, fuel gauge and
battery condition. The speedo surround, horncasting grille,
headlight surround, rear grille and rear light surround are
painted to mimic the original Lambretta and they do look
fantastic! The factory are now producing chrome racks, screens
and many bolt on accessories etc.
We
are very proud to announce we have the sole franchise for
Dorset! These first limited bikes come in five available
colours, blue, red, yellow, green and salmon.
